2011 GSBS at RWJMS/Rutgers Joint Graduate Program Retreat
All GSBS at RWJMS and Rutgers faculty who are members of GSBS at RWJMS and Rutgers joint graduate programs were invited to a retreat on Monday June 13 in the Busch Campus Faculty Dining Hall from 12:00-4:30pm.
Three working groups (Structure of Graduate Programs, Curriculum, and Financial/Quality of Life) were formed to address the recommendations of the Graduate School External Review Team from July 2010 . This retreat was an opportunity for all faculty to discuss the proposals generated by the working groups which had been meeting for the past 7 months.
The presentation and supporting information are posted here.

Mechanisms for access to Rutgers Electronic Journals
by Joint Program RWJMS faculty and graduate students who entered prior to 2008:
1. Obtain barcode and PIN at LSM circulation desk. If you already have a barcode, then you may be able to just call the LSM circulation desk to get a PIN. If you need a new barcode, then you will have to fill out a form at the LSM circulation desk and you will need your UMDNJ ID number and ID card. You may not be listed as joint program faculty in their system, so if they deny your request, you may have to reiterate that you are, in fact, part of the joint program in molecular biosciences.
2. Wait 24 hours for the system to activate your account.
3. Go to the Rutgers library home page and click on the yellow bar called “NOT LOGGED IN”
4. Do not enter your barcode and PIN on this page. Since you do not have a Rutgers Net ID, you must then click on the "Library barcode and PIN Login" link on the right.
5. Enter your barcode and PIN credentials and then search for your articles from within the Rutgers Library Website.
Information for Faculty and Staff to Assist a Student in the Event of a Sexual Assault
Nationwide, acts of sexual violence are under-reported; victims of sexual assault are more like to suffer academically, and from depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, alcohol and drug abuse, and to contemplate suicide. It is important that the UMDNJ community have information and resources readily available to address these issues. The University Office of Academic Affairs, in consultation with UBHC, the Office of Public Safety and U.H. Emergency Department has developed a document titled, “Protocol and Resources for Faculty and Staff When Responding to a Disclosure of a Sexual Assault by a Student.” which also has useful information for victims is available Here.
