Scheduling your 4th Year – Class of 2013 – Mandatory

WLH, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
At this meeting students will receive information on the structure of fourth year and the mechanics of scheduling required rotations and electives, including away electives and Step 2 CK & CS exams. Students will hear from faculty and staff how to approach creating a meaningful fourth year schedule and how to plan for budgeting expenses in the fourth year.
NRMP R3 Meeting - Class of 2012

At this meeting students will receive information on how to use the web based National Residency Match Program (NRMP) R3 system for Registration, Ranking and Results in the Match. We will provide helpful information on how to navigate the NRMP program and compose a preferential listing of residency programs to which students want to attend.
Scheduling your 3rd Year - Class of 2014 - Mandatory

WLH, 4:00 - 6:30 pm
At this meeting students will receive information on the structure of third year and the mechanics of clerkship sequence and site selection. Students will hear from faculty and senior students on how to approach the selection of clerkship sites and third year electives. Finally students will review where they should be in the AAMC's Careers in Medicine Program (CiM), which will assist in career planning, choosing a medical specialty and selecting and applying to a residency program.
Preparing for Residency and Feedback Session - Class of 2012 - Mandatory

Now that match results are known, graduating 4th year students will receive tips and advice from residents, faculty and program directors on how to be successful future residents. Students will also have the opportunity to provide the deans of the medical school with feedback on how to further enhance the educational experience provided at RWJMS.
Preparing for Residency Part 1 Meeting - Class of 2013 - Mandatory

At this meeting students will be introduced to the residency application process. Students will receive guidance on obtaining letters of recommendation, preparing personal statements & CVs. We will provide students with important information on the different aspects of their Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE) and how to prepare for their individual MSPE appointment with a Student Affairs dean.We will also review the resources and tools available from the Careers in Medicine (CiM) program that will help them in choosing a medical specialty and during the entire residency application process.
Individual MSPE Meetings - Rising M4 Students
May-August
Individual (one-on-one with a Student Affairs Dean) MSPE meetings will take place between mid-May and mid-July. Please schedule a meeting with one of the Student Affairs Deans when you finish your 4th year elective scheduling. During individual MSPE meetings, students will receive individualized career counseling advice.
