DSP Workforce Development - College of Direct SupportCDS Administrator Training These trainings are designed for staff provider agencies designate as their College of Direct Support Administrators. Participants may include: administrative assistants, human resources staff, and agency trainers. Participation in these trainings will help agencies meet the minimum requirement of tracking Pre-Service training and use the optional state of the art continuing education opportunities available through the College of Direct Support. In these trainings, administrators will learn how to enroll new staff into the CDS system using the DDD required fields, release CDS course/lessons to staff, track Pre-Service and other agency training, and generate reports on an individual and agency basis. A variety of training options will be made available in order to ensure the maximum number of training dates possible. These trainings are designed to be hands-on, so training will be offered in locations where computers and/or WiFi are available. Each training will have its computer capability noted under its listing. Trainees attending courses where WiFi is available, are encouraged, but not required, to bring a wireless laptop. If bringing a laptop please note this in the accommodations section of the registration form. This will enable us to increase the capacity of these trainings. Making the College of Direct Support Work for Your AgencyThe College of Direct Support is a tool that enables provider agencies throughout the state to expand training opportunities that enhance the skills and professionalism of staff and improve the quality of supports. The development of a training plan is important to any organization that wants to achieve these outcomes. This workshop will provide information on how provider agencies can make the most of the robust, state-of-the art curriculum found in the College of Direct Support (CDS). This session will provide agencies with information on developing an effective training plan using the CDS. The workshop will outline proven best practices in using the curriculum on a course-by-course and lesson-by-lesson basis; and will address topics related to the NJ DSP Career Path. Topics will include: an overview of the CDS curriculum; aligning the training with mission of the organization; using training in quality assurance efforts; meeting the educational needs of their staff; and providing training relevant to the support needs of people being served.
