Job Title: Training and Consultation Specialist - Community Positive Behavior Support

Responsibilities: Provides advanced level training and technical assistance in the area of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) for children and adults with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) who live with their families, receive community supports, or are in the process of moving from state-operated facilities to community living settings. The Training and Consultation Specialist will be primarily responsible for delivery of training and consultation on the topics of PBS. Responsibilities include assisting in the planning and coordination of trainings, delivery of technical assistance, the development and dissemination of the Boggs Center materials, and responding to requests for information.

Qualifications: Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in Positive Behavior Support, or Community Supports for Persons with Disabilities; or a Doctorate Degree in Special Education or a related field plus one (1) year of experience; or a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a related field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling), plus four (4) years of experience. Experience providing training or technical assistance in Positive Behavior Support or Community Supports for Persons with Disabilities is preferred. Experience in moving people with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD) from congregate to community settings is preferred. Computer proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint and use of internet required.

Training and Consultation Specialist - Positive Behavior Support in Schools

Responsibilities: Provides advanced level consultation, technical assistance and training services consistent with identified project goals and objectives. The Training and Consultation Specialist will be primarily responsible for delivery of training and consultation on the topics of PBSIS. Responsibilities include participating in the planning and provision of training, curriculum development, coordination of collaborative partnerships in transitions and community supports, development and dissemination of the Boggs Center materials, and responding to requests for information.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling) plus two (2) years of experience in providing training and technical assistance on Positive Behavior Support in public schools; or a Doctorate Degree in Special Education or a related field plus four (4) years of experience. Experience with urban and/or economically disadvantaged schools is preferred. Computer proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint and use of internet required. Additional related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.
